Oana Popescu, born in Bucharest, Romania, graduated from the National Music University of Bucharest and Zurich University of the Arts and has lived in Switzerland since 2008. Thanks to the generous support of foundations such as the Rahn Kulturfonds  and Vontobel, Oana has finished her studies and began her career as a solo pianist in Zurich. Oana’s longest collaborations were with professors Gabriela Tamas, Ana Pitis, Ioana Minei, and Karl Andreas Kolly, who have influenced her pianistic development and personality deeply.  As early as the age of nine, Oana won her first international competition in France and started performing regularly on Radio and TV broadcasts. She made her debut with orchestra in 2003, with the Moldova Philharmonic of Iasi, Romania, and recorded her first live CD of Beethoven’s music. The Romanian pianist of Greek origin has since 2014 placed emphasis on the classical repertoire of Romanian, Hungarian, Greek and Swiss composers.
